Happy Birthday to my Oldest Boy!

We also painted out guest room last week! I still have some more decorating to do but thought I would post a picture! I loved the color and was so happy with how it turned out! I was so nervous going into it because I did not want it to be too blue!
Here are the boys taking turns doing their breathing treatments!!

A little blurry but here is a picture of the birthday cake!! Of course it was a pirate ship!

For their birthdays we gave them crocodiles from build a bear, so this was them waiting for the store to open so they could go get them stuffed! They loved it! It was our first experience and it was really fun!

Last Sunday Caleb turned 4!! I can hardly believe it!! Saturday was their party and we had such a great time!! We are truly blessed with so many amazing friends and we are so happy for the ones that got to come and celebrate this special day with us! On his birthday we went out to lunch and were blessed to have weather in the 70's so we spent the afternoon outside playing! It was such a fun day! We were supposed to stick to tradition and bake cupcakes but we had birthday cake left over from the party so we decided to have that instead! Happy birthday my precious Caleb!! You are such a blessing to our family and I love you more than you could ever know!!

To back up just a little, we went to the Dr. on Friday before their party because both of the boys had the weirdest sounding cough. We get there and find out their lungs were weezing so Both were put on a nebulizer (not sure of spelling, breathing treatment) four times a day for ten minutes at a time! Needless to say we did a lot of bribing to get them to sit still for that long, they got a starburst each time they did it and got to pick their favorite show to watch during it. The cough did not seem to get better so on Monday they were both put on a steriod along with the breathing treatments. Let me just say this, I have NEVER seen my kids act like they acted while on this steriod. SCARY to see the affects of this medicine. Every morning while Parker was on it we would go take Caleb to school and then he would scream bloody murder kicking and throwing and all for seriously an hour. I could do nothing to get him under control. I tried offering candy, movies, I tried it all and no matter what he would not calm down! It was so hard on me!! There were moments that i just wanted to stop and cry with him. It felt so helpless! I could not get him to get control of himself! I had a friend over one of the mornings and she and I both were trying everything, he would cry for about an hour then all of a sudden he would turn into the happiest thing. It was weird!! As for Caleb, he was just moody and sassy! I am so glad they are done with that stuff and hope they never have to go on it again!

We continued to have an interesting week, poor Caleb did something he has never done before! He fell out of the bed at 3:00 am and when falling out of the bed he hit his bedside table! Well, I heard him hit and then start screaming so I jump out of bed saying "he fell out of the bed, he fell out of the bed" over and over to Eric. I went in there and he was standing holding his face, crying so hard and shaking like a leaf! So I bring him to my room and when the light hit him I saw all the blood on his face. Of course I wanted to freak out but tried to remain calm. Poor thing had hit his mouth and it busted his lip! I am sure you all know how bad the mouth bleeds. We finally got it to stop bleeding and he slept with us the rest of the night!! Poor thing!! So now when he gets in bed he makes sure he fixes the pillows so he can't fall out!

Well, that is about it on the updates!! This has been a rather long post!! Lots going on here I guess! Now I will post a few pictures to go along with some of the things I talked about!

What an eventful week you've had! I love the color of the room, blue is my favorite color, but it's very soft. I've had to take steroids for my back a couple of times, and they make ME feel crazy, I can't imagine how it makes a child feel! I'm glad they are feeling better and are done with the medicine. And I absolutely cannot believe Caleb is already 4 years old! Where does the time go?

Hi April! Isn't parenting fun? We've had a couple of scary times like that with our kids. When our Isaac was 1, he wheezed horribly one night. We called the Dr. and he had us give him 2 breathing treatments back-to-back, then every 2 hours through the night. When we got up the next morning, he was still bad, so he had to have a oral steroid, inhaled steroid, and breathing treatments the rest of the winter. UGH! P.S. I love the paint color! I, too, just painted... only I did my living room. I think I'll post a pic on my blog. It's red, not sure if I like it, kinda bold.
